Dear College Park 4th Grade Parents,
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! We want to let you know about some important information we have in our classroom for this year:
Homework – Students typically have a study link every single night unless there is a test they need to review for. They also are expected to read 20 minutes each night and log it into their reading logs. They will also have a daily assigned spelling task from words their way with a test on Friday. We will ask them to read 40 minutes over the weekend, which will usually be their only homework.
Late Work – if your child does not hand in an assignment, they will stay in for recess to finish the assignment.
Assignment Notebooks- Students will fill out their assignment notebook each day with that night’s homework. Please check each night to see that your child completes the assignments.
Homework Folders- Completed work done during the school week will be sent home in your child’s Homework Folder. There will also be important notes included. All tests will need to be signed and returned, but all other completed work is able to be kept at home unless noted.
Fruit break – Your child may bring a healthy snack to school each day. They will have a time built into the morning for their snack break. (ex. fruit, crackers, cheese, pretzels, etc.
** NOTE: We are a peanut/nut-free classroom due to allergies.
Healthy Snack Ideas: (approved by the Greendale School District)

If they have a summer birthday, they may celebrate a ½ birthday, or celebrate closer to the end of the school year if they would like.
